Deutsche Presse AG is the largest news agency in the Federal Republic of Germany. Built in Hamburg in September 1949, it was established on the basis of three news agencies in the areas occupied by the United States, Britain and France. The agency is a private joint stock limited company composed of 185 newspapers, publishing houses, radio and television stations and other institutions.

DPA broadcasts about 60,000 words of basic services every day, covering news about politics, economy, science and technology, society, culture and sports at home and abroad, of which about 1/3 is political news.

Almost all German newspapers receive basic services broadcast by Deutsche Presse Presse, among which 1/3 of the daily newspapers rely on Deutsche Presse Press to obtain cross-regional political news, and the adoption rate of basic services in daily newspapers is over 99%. In addition to newspapers, most magazines in Germany, as well as government departments, trade unions and large enterprises also receive the basic services of DPA.
